HAC picture Hazardous Area Classification Training Course - Nov 27, 2019 to Nov 29, 2019
This 3 day course is offered in New Plymouth. NZD2400 per attendee (Excl. GST).

The classification of areas where an explosive atmosphere might arise is required to permit the proper selection and installation of equipment for use in such hazardous areas. Explosive atmospheres result from the presence of flammable gases, vapours and dusts. The aim of this 3-day course is to develop the competencies required to perform a Hazardous Area Classification based on the requirements of AS/ NZS 60079.10.1:2009 and AS/ NZS 60079.10.2:2016 with supplementary information supported from EI15 4th Edition and IEC 60079.10.1:2015.

 

This course awards US 17069 and meets the competencies of AS/ NZS 4761.1. This course has strict pre-requisites that must be met before your registration on the course is confirmed. This is to ensure your level of understanding is adequate to meet the preconditions for assessment to AS/ NZS 4761.1 2018 Competencies for Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas.


 NZQA Unit Standard 17069 (Classify hazardous areas) can be achieved with a post course assignment and assessment at an additional fee of $150 (excl. GST) per person. Our Unit Standard 17069 is provided through a sub-contracting arrangement with NZTI Ltd.

Risk Image Risk Assessment for Process Industries - Mar 03, 2020 to Mar 04, 2020
This 2 day course is offered in Rotorua. NZD1810 per attendee (Excl. GST).

A risk assessment is used to determine whether the risks associated with process hazards are managed to an acceptable level. There are a number of techniques available, and selecting the correct tool is critical to performing an effective assessment. This course is covers both quantitative and qualitative risk assessment tools (including bow tie, layer of protection analysis (LOPA), risk matrix, fault tree) and how they can be applied to the overall safety assessment process.

HAZOP studies are the process industry’s accepted standard for critically examining planned or existing processes and procedures and identifying associated hazards to people, the environment or the equipment. The aim of this course is to prepare participants for HAZOP reviews and make them more effective and efficient review team members.

 


NZQA Unit Standard 19341 (HAZOP Participants) can be achieved with a test and assessment at an additional fee of $50 (excl. GST) per person. Our Unit Standard 19341 is provided through a sub-contracting arrangement with NZTI Ltd.

The aim of this course is to train the course participants to become effective and efficient HAZOP review facilitators.


NZQA Unit Standard 27243 (HAZOP Leaders) can be achieved with a post course assignment and assessment at an additional fee of $150 (excl. GST) per person. Our Unit Standard 27243 is provided through a sub-contracting arrangement with NZTI Ltd.

This 1 day course is offered in New Plymouth or Waikato (TBC). NZD735 per attendee (Excl. GST).

Process plants are complex and the hazards associated with their operation are not easily identified and managed. However, as recurring process safety incidents show, it is imperative that the hazards and risks related to process plants are identified and adequately managed. This course is aimed at operators and engineers of process plants and offers an overview of the various aspects of process safety across the whole life cycle of process plants.
