Hazardous Area Classification is intended to identify locations where the presence of a flammable atmosphere during normal operation will require ignition sources to be controlled. Safety Solutions Ltd offers assessment of Hazardous Area Classification based on national standards and international codes such as IEC 60079-10-1, EI15 and API 500/505 for fluids and IEC 60079-10-2 for dust.
Our assessments include:
- Explosible dust and flammable fluid categorisation
- Identification of flammable materials, applicability of standard examples, mist,
- Type and grade of release
- Identification of potential release sources, fugitive emissions, containment failures, point sources, release duration, liquid pool sources
- Size and classification of the hazardous area zones
- Release rate, dispersion, ventilation, within buildings and on the plant
- Preparation of HAC documentation & drawings
- Material and release schedules, drawings, supporting calculations and reports describing the techniques applied and any specific issues.
