The course touches on relevant aspects of the MHF and Petroleum Regulations throughout each module, providing attendees with an improved understanding of how to apply good process safety practices to meet the intent of these regulations. It uses interactive exercises, workshops, case studies and theory to examine key functional areas.

Structure and Content:

  • The course agenda is as follows:
    • Preparation (12-16 hrs) – To get all trainees up to speed on the basics of process safety, all participants must complete our 3 included E-Learning modules;
    • Face to Face (3 days). This is taught in a traditional classroom environment and covers the following content:

        • Risk Assessments – risk matricies, Bowties and LOPA

      • Facility Management
        • Operations
        • Asset Integrity
        • Change Management
        • Incidents and Emergencies
        • Critical Control Management and Verification
      • Safety Management
        • Management Systems
        • Monitoring SMS and Controls
      • Implementing PS in AU
    • Post-course online 1-on-1 discussion (30 mins). This is an opportunity for the trainee to discuss how they have applied their learnings in their workplace.
    • This course includes several workshops. Some are stand-alone, and some run throughout the entirety of the training.
