Course Content:

  1. Introduction to  Risk Assessment
  2. Identification of scenarios
  3. Bowtie concepts including threats/ controls / escalation factors/ top events and outcomes
  4. Introduction to bowtie development in Velocity EHS Bowtie software – SSL will provide in the course
  5. Introduction workshop
  6. Effectiveness and categorisation of controls and allocation on bowtie
  7. Main workshop – facilitated by the trainer and based on the example provided by SSL or client
  8. Use of Bowties in Safety Management of a Facility

The course will use an established bowtie software platform (Velocity EHS Risk Management) which will be available to all trainees.

This course now comes with an optional support package: Purchase 4 hours of support aimed at developing your competence, based on your training needs and delivered by one of our senior consultants / trainers. This will take place after your training has commenced and can greatly lift your capabilities in a real-world-setting. As an example, this could include 1 hour each of reviewing your Bowtie procedure, preparation support on a Bowtie development, review of a prepared Bowtie and online support in a Bowtie workshop.
